When does GTA 6 come out?

The official release date is 19 November 2026. Rockstar announced it on 6 November 2025, when it delayed the game for the second time, and has repeated it in every announcement since: the opening of pre-orders in June 2026 and the Extended Look shown on Netflix on 27 August 2026.

It is the third date the game has had. The first trailer, in December 2023, promised 2025; then came 26 May 2026 and, finally, November.

Which platforms is GTA 6 coming to?

GTA 6 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, including Xbox Series S. There will be no PS4 or Xbox One version.

On performance, Rockstar has said the game runs at 30 frames per second on consoles "for now", with no 60fps mode announced, not even for PS5 Pro.

Will GTA 6 come to PC?

As of today, Rockstar has not announced a PC version. That is nothing new for the series: GTA V launched on consoles in September 2013 and did not reach PC until April 2015, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took a year to make the jump.

Pre-load: when can you download GTA 6?

Anyone who pre-orders the game digitally on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store will be able to start downloading it on 12 November 2026, seven days before launch, so it is ready to play the moment it unlocks.

Watch out with the physical edition: the box contains a download code, not a disc. Even if you buy it in a shop you will need to download the full game, so make sure you have plenty of free space on your console.

GTA 6 price and editions

Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026 with two editions:

EditionPriceWhat's included
Standard€79.99 / $79.99The full game
Ultimate Edition€99.99 / $99.99The game plus a collection of vehicles, weapons, clothing and extra content woven through Jason and Lucia's story

On top of that, every pre-order and purchase made before 20 November 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, a nod to the original GTA: Vice City, in either edition.

What is still to be confirmed?

With launch less than two months away, a few unknowns remain: the download size and Rockstar's plans for online. The unlock time, on the other hand, is now known: midnight in each country, which means 00:00 GMT in the UK and midnight Eastern across the US. If the studio follows what it did with Red Dead Redemption 2, a launch trailer is likely in the days before release.

And how long will it keep you busy? We've gathered what's known about the missions and how long the story is.
