Standard or Ultimate? The GTA 6 edition that's actually right for you
GTA 6 comes in two editions: Standard, at €79.99 (£69.99, $79.99), with the full game, and the Ultimate Edition, at €99.99 (£89.99, $99.99), which adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, shops, outfits and missions. Both get the Vintage Vice City pre-order pack if you buy before 20 November, and the Ultimate is digital-only. Here is what each one includes and which is worth it.

What does the Ultimate Edition include?
The Ultimate adds a collection of exclusive content that, according to Rockstar, unlocks throughout Jason and Lucia's story, with new items in every chapter. You don't get it all from minute one: it appears as you progress.
Vehicles
- '95 Grotti Cheetah: the classic mid-90s sports car, with a retro look.
- '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Paradise Garage: an off-road buggy and a garage of your own.
- Shitzu Squalo: a speedboat carrying a crate of explosives.
- Vapid Ganado: a pickup truck with exclusive mods, such as a cab spoiler.
- Dinka Enduro and Crest Kayak: a dirt bike and a kayak at Jason's safehouse.
Weapons
- Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers: with palm-tree-etched grips and engraved details.
- Custom pistols: engraved versions of the Girardi ES9 and the Klose K17.
Shops and businesses
- Rideout Customs (Vice City) and One-Eyed Willie's (Lake Leonida): garages to mod your vehicles.
- Stock 305: a streetwear clothing store.
- Sara's Unisex Salon: a hair salon.
- Electric Fang Tattoo: a tattoo parlour with designs by the art collective FAILE.
Missions and outfits
- Classic Car Collection: a series of restoration jobs from Wyman, with four exclusive vehicles.
- PTT Youngin$: a raid on an illegal goods store in Southside, Vice City.
- Vice City Style and Goodtime Gear: two clothing collections.
What is the Vintage Vice City pack?
It is the pre-order bonus, and both editions get it if you buy the game before 20 November 2026, that is, by launch day at the latest. It is a nod to the original GTA: Vice City:
- '55 Vapid Stanier and Shore Court Garage: a classic sedan and a garage near Ocean Beach, with a weapon locker and storage for stolen goods.
- Two luxury looks: a linen suit for Jason and a red sequin mini dress with curls for Lucia.
- Tropical weapon pattern: a finish you can apply to most guns.
What about the month of GTA+?
If you pre-order digitally, you also get one month of GTA+, Rockstar's GTA Online subscription, which gives in-game money, discounts and access to its library of classic games. Note: PlayStation Store states that the subscription renews automatically when the free month ends. If you don't want it, cancel it beforehand in your console's subscription settings.
Can you upgrade from Standard to Ultimate?
Yes. Rockstar will sell an Ultimate Edition upgrade separately, which is already listed on PlayStation Store but can't be bought yet and has no price. In the US it has been reported at $20, exactly the difference between the two editions.
So there's no need to decide now: you can start with the Standard and upgrade later if the extra content wins you over.
Standard or Ultimate: which should you buy?
Choose the Standard if:
- You want a boxed copy or price is your main concern.
- You'd rather see the extra content before paying for it; you can upgrade later.
Choose the Ultimate if:
- You plan to squeeze the story mode and love cars, customisation and side missions.
- You buy digital and want everything from the start.
Either way you play the same complete GTA 6: the Ultimate doesn't change the story, it only adds content to your playthrough.
