What data we process and why

Browsing. 6 Stars does not require registration and has no forms. To serve the website and protect it against abuse, our hosting provider logs technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a secure service (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures visits in aggregate, without cookies and without identifying individuals. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used.

Google Analytics. If you accept it in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to learn, statistically, which pages are visited, where visitors come from and how long they read. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address, we do not use it for advertising and we keep the data for 14 months. If you do not accept, it is not loaded. You can withdraw your consent at any time from "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of the page. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Search. We store what is searched on the website (the text, the language, how many results there were and the suggestion chosen), without your IP address or anything that identifies you, to find out what content is missing. Your recent searches are kept only in your browser. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Contact. If you email us, we will process your address and the content of your message in order to reply. Legal basis: your consent when writing to us (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

YouTube videos. The video preview image is served from our website. So that videos start instantly, when a video is about to appear on screen the YouTube player (Google Ireland Ltd.) is prepared in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), even if you have not played it yet. From then on YouTube receives technical data about your connection, such as your IP address, and processes it under its own privacy policy.

Social media posts. Some articles include posts from X, Instagram or TikTok. Tweets are shown as a copy generated by our website from the tweet's public data: your browser does not connect to X, unless you play a tweet's video, which is downloaded from X's servers (Twitter International Unlimited Company), or our server fails to show one of its images: it is then requested directly from X's image server (pbs.twimg.com), which receives your IP address. Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) and TikTok (TikTok Technology Limited) posts are shown as a card that does not connect to those networks; only when you press "Show post" is their content loaded, and from that moment they process data under their own privacy policies. Legal basis: your consent when you press the button (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Advertising. This website shows Google AdSense ads (Google Ireland Ltd.). Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads, personalised or not, cap their frequency and measure their performance, only with your consent, which we manage through Google's certified consent management platform (IAB TCF). You can accept, reject or change it at any time via “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of the page. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Retention

Technical logs are kept for the limited period set by the hosting provider. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, afterwards, for the statutory periods during which liabilities may arise.

Recipients

We do not share your data with third parties unless legally required. To provide the service we rely on providers acting as data processors:

• Vercel Inc. (hosting and statistics), based in the USA. International transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
• Google Ireland Ltd. (statistics with Google Analytics, only if you accept). Some data may be transferred to Google LLC (USA) under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• Google Ireland Ltd. (advertising and consent management). Some data may be transferred to Google LLC (USA) under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• Our email provider, to manage the messages you send us.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to contact@the6stars.com. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

Minors

Given its subject matter, this website is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14.
