Cookie policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage, follow the same rules.

Cookies we use

6 Stars uses one first-party technical cookie, which is exempt from consent, and third-party analytics and advertising cookies that are only set if you accept them. The first-party cookie is:

  • NEXT_LOCALE · first-party · session. Remembers the language you have chosen so the website is shown in that language. It is deleted when you close your browser.

Some choices you make are also kept in your browser's local storage, likewise exempt from consent because they only serve what you ask for: the platform for cheats (6stars:cheats-platform), whether you want to see spoilers (6stars:spoilers) and which mission and money guides you have opened, to mark them as read (6stars:seen-guides) and your recent searches (6stars:recent-searches). They never leave your browser and we do not receive them; they are deleted when you clear the site's data.

Visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics) work without cookies and without identifying you.

Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) is only loaded if you accept in the cookie notice. It then sets _ga and _ga_ followed by our property ID, which tell visitors apart anonymously and last up to 2 years. If you reject or withdraw your consent from "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of the page, they are not set or are deleted. Your choice is kept in local storage (6stars:consent) for 12 months.

Third-party content

On pages with a video, the YouTube player (Google Ireland Ltd.) is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode when the video is about to appear on screen. In this mode YouTube does not set advertising cookies until you play the video, although it may store technical data in your browser under its own policy.

Tweets are shown without connecting to X (only playing a video, or an image our website cannot serve, is downloaded from X's servers), and Instagram and TikTok posts load nothing until you press "Show post". From that moment, that network may store cookies or data in your browser under its own policy.

Advertising

We show Google AdSense ads (Google Ireland Ltd.). Google and its advertising partners use third-party cookies such as __gads, __gpi, IDE or NID to serve ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure their performance and, if you agree, personalise them based on your interests. They can last up to 13 months.

These cookies are only set if you give your consent in the cookie banner, managed by Google's certified platform (IAB TCF), where you can also see the list of partners. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of the page. If you reject them you will still see ads, but not personalised ones. Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge…). If you block the language cookie the website will still work, but it may not remember your chosen language.
