How to pay less for GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox

GTA 6 costs £69.99 in the UK, €79.99 in Europe and $79.99 in the US for the Standard Edition, and in the UK the lowest price right now is ShopTo, at £67.85, followed by Argos at £67.99. The Ultimate Edition (£89.99 / €99.99 / $99.99) is digital-only and isn't discounted. Here is where to pre-order it, whether physical or digital suits you better and how to pay less.

How much does GTA 6 cost in each store?

These are the UK prices we have checked. We will keep the table updated as deals appear:

In the eurozone, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store charge €79.99 and €99.99. If you're torn between the two editions, our editions comparison covers everything each one includes.

Has the price dropped yet?

Not officially. Discounts come from retailers: in early September, Amazon Spain cut it to €64.90 with the code 15ESP, 19% off, for three days and while stocks lasted.

Deals like that don't last long, so if you want to pay less, pre-order early from a store that only charges you when it ships, and keep an eye out for codes.

Physical or digital?

The key difference is that the physical edition has no disc: inside the box there is a code to download the game, which Take-Two says reaches stores on 12 November so you can pre-load it. Once redeemed, the code is tied to your account: you can't resell or lend it like a disc.

In favour of physical: retailers are the only ones offering discounts, and you can gift it in a box.

In favour of digital: it's the only way to get the Ultimate and the month of GTA+ from pre-ordering.

How to get the Ultimate Edition for less

The Ultimate costs £89.99 and isn't sold at a discount. The alternative is to buy the Standard from a retailer with a deal and later pay for the Ultimate upgrade, which Rockstar will sell separately and which, as we explained, has been reported at $20 in the US.

If the UK price is equivalent, the Standard at £67.85 from ShopTo plus the upgrade would get you the Ultimate for a little less than buying it outright.

What about key reseller sites?

Key sites will list cheaper GTA 6 codes. Before buying, bear in mind that codes are tied to a region: the listing of Spanish retailer GAME, for example, warns that its code only works on PlayStation accounts registered in Spain. Many reseller keys are from another region, some sellers are private individuals, and a revoked code leaves you without the game. If you go ahead, buy only from official or authorised sellers and check the code matches your console's store region.
