El Clásico at the Camp Nou had GTA 6 on the touchline
GTA 6 was advertised at El Clásico: during Barcelona vs Real Madrid on Sunday, October 25 at the Camp Nou, the pitchside LED boards repeatedly showed the Grand Theft Auto VI logo and the message “Coming November 19”. It's the game's biggest campaign in Spain so far, and it lands five days after its first TV ad, during the NBA. Here's what was on screen, why El Clásico is such a juicy shop window and what else Rockstar has lined up 24 days before launch.

What appeared on the Camp Nou boards?
Standard GTA advertising, just in the least standard place. The LED boards around the pitch, the same ones that usually cycle through betting sites and electronics brands, kept switching during the match to the white Grand Theft Auto VI logo, with its pink and orange VI, and the message "Coming November 19" over a purple Vice City sunset.
No trailer, no characters: just the logo and the date, on a loop, behind the goals and all along the touchline. According to Vandal, the ad showed up "several times" during the game, which Real Madrid won 2-1.

The funny part is that the first people to notice weren't in Barcelona. The photos that spread on X came from fans watching the game on TV in the United States and from Reddit users, who started sharing screenshots of the broadcast while it was still 0-0.
Why is El Clásico such a good shop window?
The numbers. Vandal estimates the ad was seen by around 650 million people, the worldwide audience usually attributed to every Barça vs Real Madrid. That's an estimate, not a measurement, but it gives you the scale: very few things on the planet put that many people in front of a screen at the same time, let alone on a Sunday evening in Europe and a Sunday afternoon in the Americas.
And unlike a half-time commercial, there's no skipping pitchside boards: the logo sneaks into every attack and every replay.
It also matters for Europe. Vandal calls it the biggest GTA 6 campaign in Spain so far: until Sunday, everything Rockstar had done on this side of the Atlantic came down to the giant banner in Paris.
Has Rockstar said anything?
Nothing. Not a tweet, not a Newswire post, not a word about the deal. It's the same playbook it has used for almost everything: the ads appear, fans find them and Rockstar lets the photos do the talking.
That's the trailer released on October 15, and for now the best look at how it all started between Jason and Lucia.
What else has Rockstar pulled off less than a month from launch?
The list is getting long, and almost all of it runs through Miami: Vice City cars on the streets, a blimp and banner planes, ads for Vice City brands all over town and even a real Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell at the Heat's arena.
Sport keeps getting a bigger role. The big one arrives on November 18, the night before launch, when the Miami Heat take on the Milwaukee Bucks turned into a Vice City team, with their own uniforms and court.
El Clásico shows the campaign isn't just a Florida thing anymore. There are 24 days to go until November 19, and if Rockstar has started buying the most expensive shop windows in European sport, this is unlikely to be the last one.
